Privacy Policy

On-device by default

When you record a conversation with Konvos, the recording, the transcript, the speaker labels, and the insights are created and stored entirely on your iPhone. This happens with no account and no upload. If you never turn on any of the optional features below, Konvos collects nothing about your conversations.

Optional: cloud backup and sync

If you turn on backup and sync (a paid feature), Konvos stores an encrypted copy of your conversations so you can recover them if you lose your phone and see them on your other devices, including Mac. Backed-up data is kept for up to 30 days and then deleted. You can turn this off or delete your backup at any time.

Optional: helping improve Konvos

You can choose to share some of your conversations so Konvos gets better at understanding yours. This is off by default and split into two separate choices:

• Share de-identified transcripts. We remove names and identifying details and use the text to improve Konvos's analysis. De-identification reduces but cannot perfectly eliminate the chance a transcript could be traced back, so only share what you are comfortable sharing.
• Share audio. You can separately choose to share your own voice recordings to improve how Konvos listens. Only your own voice is used, never anyone else's. Turning this on gives Konvos your permission to use that audio to improve its models. You can withdraw at any time.

Turning either off stops future use immediately. Anything already used in a completed model update cannot be pulled back out, but your shared data is deleted and will not be used again.

Konvos Kloud (optional calls and messaging)

If you use Konvos Kloud to talk or message when you are apart, those conversations travel over an end-to-end-encrypted relay. The relay passes your encrypted data along and cannot read it. Konvos Kloud requires an account, for which we store basic account and routing information. Recording a Konvos Kloud call requires each participant to opt in for their own side.

What we never do

• We don't sell or rent your personal information to third parties or data brokers.
• We never show ads or use your conversations for advertising.
• We don't hand your conversations to other companies to train their models. Data you opt in to share is used to improve Konvos's own models.
• We never record without a visible recording indicator. There is no hidden or stealth mode.

Your choices and deletion

Everything optional is off by default and reversible in Settings. You can delete your backed-up or shared data, and (if you have a Konvos Kloud account) delete your account and all associated data, from within the app at any time.

Security

On-device data is protected by your device's security. Anything stored in the cloud (backup, or data you choose to share) is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect as little as possible so there is little to expose.

Children

Konvos is not directed to children and is intended for users 17 and older.

Business transfers

If Konvos is acquired by or merges with another company, information may transfer to the new owner as part of that transaction. The new owner will remain bound by this Privacy Policy, or will notify you before making any material change to how your information is used.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. We will never quietly expand how we use your data.
